Morgan Whalan is an animator, illustrator, and designer born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She holds a degree in Visual Communication with a minor in Animation from the Alberta University of the Arts (2024) and a diploma in Visual and Creative Arts from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario (2019). With over 8 years of experience in the digital art realm, Morgan creates bold, eye-catching graphics and illustrations that leave a lasting impression.
 

Her work has been featured at local art markets such as RAW Artists and is part of a rotating display at Rain Dog Bar in Calgary. Morgan has also worked with local entertainers and businesses, providing branding for companies like Electric Panther Nails and creating motion graphics for Sequoia Environmental Remediation. She has collaborated with performing artists to create animated backdrops for large-scale events, including the Badlands Music Festival in 2022. Passionate about pushing the boundaries of animation, Morgan contributes to Alberta’s artistic community by collaborating with local creatives and bringing her unique vision to life.
 

Morgan is currently in residence at the Quickdraw Animation Society through the Chris J. Melnychuk Scholarship & Residency (2024–2026), where she is working on her debut short film, Cat Cabaret. This six-minute narrative animation tells the story of three strippers reclaiming their beloved but fading strip club, inspired by Morgan’s three years of experience working alongside strippers.
 

Morgan is available for design, illustration, and animated projects, continuing to expand the possibilities of visual storytelling and design.
